One of the coolest appellations in CA, Lake Country occupies the land north of Napa Valley with a close proximity to Clear Lake, the largest body of freshwater in CA. This is an up-and-coming AVA, gaining more and more notoriety with every passing vintage. The diverse terrain boasts high elevations, red volcanic and loam soils, proving to be a successful location for Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc among many others.
