Dry Creek

The first pioneers came to Dry Creek as farmers, not winemakers, but in the turn of the century when Italian immigrants ruled the valley, they discovered that Zinfandel was well suited to the local terroir. Since then it has emerged as the Queen of the Valley. Dry Creek’s Mediterranean climate is perfect for Zinfandel, Rhone varietals, Cabernet on the hillsides and Sauvignon Blanc on the valley floor. While Soil types vary, most vineyard sites have a mixture of gravel and red clay. Cool nights and coastal breezes have helped to create the characteristic raspberry flavors: elegant, red fruit, bright and brambly.
