This dynamic AVA is located in eastern Washington, approximately on the same latitude (46ºN) as some of the great French wine regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Situated on the eastern side of the Cascade mountain range, Columbia Valley enjoys the rain shadow effect, which results in a very sunny, arid climate. Irrigated from the Cascade Mountain run off, these fertile soils comprised of rich volcanic soils produce impressively bold and nuanced wines, full of structure and balanced acidity.
