Central Coast
The Central Coast AVA extends approximately 250 miles along California’s coastline, from San Francisco County in the north to Santa Barbara County in the south. Chardonnay is the dominant varietal in this vast appellation. The warm sunshine and cooling ocean breezes provide an ideal climate for growing Chardonnay grapes, which remain on the vine a full month longer than in other regions, giving way to a fuller and richer flavor profile.
